Software Developer and Entrepreneur Journey
The most important thing that needs to be said is this "Our work begins, from where your troubles begin". The concept of #ReverseEngineering is known to practically all, from the community of #programmers and #charteredaccountant 's alike. But not too many truly understand and implement #objectorientedprogramming while delving deep into a problem that requires a solution, urgent or not.
If only every programmer would break their program into re-usable objects, this world would really be totally sorted! Be that as it may be, I began my career as the key of a customised #erpsoftware in a pharmaceutical machinery manufacturing organisation, where we broke down the entire organisation's needs into individual units, represented by worksheets, like Cash Payment Voucher, Bank Receipt Voucher, Sales Invoice, Purchase Order, Goods Receipt Note, Material Rejection Note etc. etc.
Today, we offer as products, those very components as macro-enabled worksheets and workbooks, adapted to the current regime of GST and Income-Tax, with almost error-free performance, but sadly, there are no takers!!
Why? Well, who am I to comment if someone prefers a roadside repair of a shoe to an expensive showroom repair job?
Worksheets and workbooks are available for free from various websites, I will not name any, because I myself use them as basic spreadsheet formats to create my own #materpiece macro-enabled worksheets!!
If you want to #Excel in the world of #MicrosoftExcel then solutions will never be cheap!!
Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not something you can learn overnight. I began my VBA journey way back in 1990, from my first Macro Programming task done in Lotus 1-2-3 sheets!! When Microsoft Office was first launched I started learning coding the VBA behind the vanilla Excel Worksheet.
But it was only when MSOffice'95 was launched that I wrote my first VBA User-Defined-Function (UDF)! By the time Microsoft 2003 entered the picture, my Saral2D IncomeTax Return software had hit it's 4th or 5th version with customised userforms, standard code modules and even a few class modules! That was in the year 2005-2006.
Today, on 24th December 2024, a full 21 years from that date, I have over a thousand code modules including standard modules, userforms and class modules in my personal library. These are completely re-usable in any way that I want to use them.
